Informing and energizing the public
Join the Alliance for Democracy in Portland for twice a week banner and sign holding. We will gather on Tuesdays and Fridays at different bridge heads or major street intersections to spread the word that the TPP and Fast Track Authority are coming at them fast and that we need to rise our voices. Until further notice, our actions will be on Tuesday and Fridays. On Tuesdays, we start at 2:30 PM. On Fridays, we start at 4 PM. Location: East end of the Burnside Bridge where Wentworh Subaru is. Call your US Senators and Representatives. Demand that they oppose the Trans Pacific Partnership and that it not be voted on this year.
Oregon Senator Merkley has already expressed his opposition as has Rep. DeFazio. Oregon Senator Wyden as well as Representatives Blumenauer, Bonamici, and Schrader remain uncommitted. The Anti-TPP Light Brigade. 4-16. This will only happen on cloudy, overcast days. Otherwise, the sun is too bright and drowns out the lights. Once a week the Alliance for Democracy and friends will raise awareness of the TPP by mobilizing the LIGHT BRIGADE with signs that spell No TPP and/or STOP TPP. You are welcome to join us. Our schedule: We will gather on either Thursday or Friday each week.
