Sen. Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump both declared during the 2016 election that the system is rigged. But their ideas of what constitutes rigging are different. We agree with Bernie's concerns about the system, so we are paying attention to election integrity (fraudulent electronic vote counting), gerrymandering, voter suppression, attacks on the Voting Rights Act, Supreme Court decisions that reduce or eliminate limits on campaign contributions/expenditures, "dark money" and the influence of the electoral college.

Dear Senator (Representative)
Attached is a list of 9 vital defensive actions, which the Democratic Party must now be preparing, to protect against fraud and possible attempts by an incumbent to retain power against the will of the people. Several of these require that preparations by underway NOW. In the best case, we hope that these are already in place, but if not, immediate action must begin on an emergency basis! The Democrats must NOT CONCEDE the election until all votes are counted and until any claims of voter suppression and election fraud are properly investigated and resolved. Election integrity is more important than declaring a winner by 8pm on November 3. If you agree with the importance of these measures, please promote the list up the Party’s hierarchy, to be sure that those able to implement them are aware of them and your support for them. 9 Vital Defensive Actions

Before November 3:
1. In all states with GOP legislatures and governors, be sure that the state Democratic parties are prepared to send alternate delegations to the Electoral College, in case their state government sends a GOP delegation despite lack of GOP popular vote victory that was not tainted by result-threatening levels of fraud or voter suppression. 2. Ensure good exit polling in all states, especially in swing and red states, and including state-level legislative races. Exit-poll/vote-count discrepancies are evidence of fraud. 3. Have adequate lawyers and monitors at all polling AND vote counting locations. 4. Maintain or establish good relations with top military leaders, to ready them for the possibility that their commitment to protecting the Constitution may require them to disobey improper orders from their Commander-in-Chief. 5. Prepare to call for massive street protests if the election is in imminent danger of being stolen. Plan to provide legal defense to protestors who get arrested. 6. Channel strong resources to state legislative races, to minimize GOP post-census gerrymandering of House districts. On and after November 3: 1. No matter what happens in November or is decided by SCOTUS, there must be absolutely no concession by the Democrats before January. There will be ample evidence of voter suppression and fraud. All claims of voter suppression and election fraud must be investigated & resolved before true victory is claimed by any candidate. 2. Trump will claim victory regardless of the vote. Be prepared to fully contest such, excepting perhaps the unlikely event of a clear Trump popular vote victory not possibly achieved by fraud and voter suppression. Democrats cannot repeat the pathetic capitulations of 2000 and 2004. 3. Call for massive street protests if the election is in imminent danger of being stolen. Plan to provide legal defense to protestors who get arrested. |
