14-16 Single Payer Health Care in Oregon
The guest, Dr. Samuel Metz, has been a long time advocate for an alternative to our present American health care payment system, an alternative which would be universal in its coverage, less expensive because it removes the private insurance middle man, and is not dependent on an individual's employment status. Such a system is sometimes called single payer, or improved medicare for all. Dr. Metz explains how we can move towards a system of Single Payer Health Care for Oregon.

He describes the congressional mandate for the service to pre-fund pensions for 75 years, the efforts to end Saturday delivery, the cuts to facilities, and now the outsourcing of traditional postal service to minimum wage Staples workers, and calls for a boycott of Staples.

Human right to water! Eco-system right to water!
Just the beginning for Jonah Majure, chief petitioner for an initiative campaign in Portland Oregon to create a unique water trust to govern and prevent the privatization of the city's water and water resources. As Jonah explains, the sole purpose of the trust would be creation of benefit for the beneficiaries, the cities residents. The trust would establish operating goals for the trust, including the use of the precautionary principle, transparency, no conflicts of interest and protection for whistle blowers.
