Chapter Activities include:
* producing the Reclaiming Democracy Show. The show is designed as part of community organizing efforts to advance systemic and structural changes that will enable authentic democracy. The goal of the show is to provoke discussion and action to remedy the underlying causes of our lack of authentic democratic self governance.
* doing educational work to support Washington Clean Campaigns, an organization dedicated to achieving publicly financed campaigns in Washington state. There is much momentum in Washington for a valuable democratic reform that could put average citizens in charge of elected officials, instead of big special interests-- publicly funded campaigns. Washington Alliance chapters are supporting this effort through education and outreach. We applied for an FCC license to operate a non-profit educational radio station. We plan to work with other local radio interests to advance local democracy and activist access to the airwaves in the South Sound area. We have a new board that is doing strategic planning. Once that process is done, we expect to have action oriented project to advance.
* partnering with other coalitions to educate and inform on issues related to expansion of NAFTA with the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP). The SPP was negotiated by the executive branch, with no Congressional oversight, with its counterparts in Canada and Mexico and entered into force "when signed by the leaders of all three countries on March 23, 2005." (More info on the SPP: Click here).

We also have Subcommittee (or Work Group) meetings to work on:
