10-27-08/Mark Crispin Miller on election theft, Mike Connell, "Bradley effect" narrative - Democracy Now! interview

Hi, AfDers and friends,

I am forwarding this from AfD supporter Joe Miller which has links to a recent Amy Goodman interview with Mark Crispin Miller on the theft of elections.  The interview is excellent and I was intending to forward myself.  Joe has been good enough to include links to additional materials.  Thank you, Joe.

I would add that he has included something on the "Bradley effect."  Today's Oregonian had an article on this as well which noted one study saying that it no longer exists or might in fact now be a reverse effect.

> Dear Folks,
>
> Below find the transcript and video (12:38 minutes) of Amy Goodman's powerful Oct. 22 interview with Mark Crispin Miller on ways in which prior elections have been stolen, and procedures that already are in play in 2008 to influence the outcome by intimidation, suppression, and electronic manipulation. Miller is the author of several books, including "Loser Takes All: Election Fraud and the Subversion of Democracy, 2000-2008," and is a professor of media culture and communication at New York University.
>
> The interview is consistently revealing. Most powerful to me were Miller's description of Richard Hayes Phillips' conclusive research* on the theft of the 2004 Presidential election in Ohio, and his description of the role that Mike Connell has played in computer engineering the outcome of elections. Connell has been described as "Karl Rove's computer guru," now works (as does Rove) for McCain-Palin, and "is the guy who has helped Bush-Cheney fix election results through computers since Florida 2000, in Ohio in 2004, also in the stolen re-election of Governor Don Siegelman in Alabama in 2002, also in the stolen re-election of Senator Max Cleland in Georgia in 2002." For more on Connell, see the seventh point in the final article below by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman.
>
> Toward the end of the interview, Miller makes some exceptionally important points about the "Bradley effect," the lack of evidence for the effect, and the ways that the narrative of this supposed "effect" might be used as a cover to explain an electronically stolen election. Below find a segment from "On the Media" that also discusses the lack of evidence for the "Bradley Effect."

> The last four links provide lots of valuable information and resources on how to promote democracy and thwart the rigging of elections.
